Recently one of the customers contacted us with the network cable unplugged error. Now let’s discuss how our Support Engineers resolve the error for our customers.
Virtual switch network incorrect
First, we log in to the Hyper-V manager.
Then we select the Virtual machine.
On the Right pane, we click on Settings.
Then we select the network adapter option in the settings.
The Virtual switch was in a Not connected state.
So, in the Virtual switch drop-down list, we select the correct switch.
After the change, we were able to login to the server via RDP.
Network cable Ethernet unplugged
One of the common reasons for the error to occur is because of the issue with the network card. Let’s discuss how our Support Engineers resolve the error for our customers.
First, we open the Hyper-V manager. Then we log in to the server via console.
On the taskbar, we right-click on the Network adapter. In the drop list, we click on Open Network & Internet settings.
Then we click on Change adapter options.
We locate the Ethernet connection and right-click on it.
From the drop-down list and we click on Enable.
Thus, the network card shows connected.
After the change, we were able to RDP to this server.
Shows unplugged after creating a new switch
When we create a new virtual switch or change to another virtual switch. The network cable will show as unplugged. To resolve this we log in to the host node.
We open command prompt as administrator.
Then we run the command
After running the command virtual machines in the host node will lose their network card.
Then we add the network card to the virtual machine.
