  Eagles 2021 Season Preview

Carson Wentz is now in Indianapolis and the reins of the Eagles are firmly in the hands of Jalen Hurts

“I think the biggest thing is being on the same page, everybody being on the same page,” Hurts said.

Hurts and the Eagles have a new skipper leading the way in Nick Sirianni, who was the offensive coordinator with the Colts from 2018-20. The key for the Eagles will be getting Hurts and his new head — who will call the plays — on the same page.

“Obviously, it’s his offense and it’s another new offense for me that I’ve had to attack and learn. It’s moreso me seeing it the way he does, then we can communicate and talk things out and move forward from there. But it’s open dialogue.

“It’s kind of what I just said with the communication and all that. We definitely want to be on the same page in everything that we do. But we’ve had time here to throw it against the wall and see what sticks, see what’s good for us. It’s an ongoing process.”

In the backfield is will be Miles Sanders as the primary back. He’ll run behind a retooled offensive line that still includes stalwart right tackle Lane Johnson.

“Yeah, or well I think with what we have, you know, it’s easy to find motivation,” Johnson said. “4-11-1 or 4-12, whatever we were last year is not acceptable. So, you know, we’re gonna come out swinging. Expectations are low. You know, we’re not expected to do much, so I feel like it’s a lot easier to play when you have that card in your hand, so that’s where we’re at and, really, I think that’s for a lot of teams in the NFC East. So, here we come.”
