The lights should cycle and then lock onto a steady pattern. Actual light pattern is dependent on the cable modem model.

Once the lights have a steady pattern, you should be able to connect to the Internet.

How do I connect more than one computer to my network connection?

You can connect more than one computer in your home to your network connection using a router. A router is always required when hooking up more than 2 computers. There are two ways to setup your network connection using a router: either with an Ethernet cable or wirelessly.

Although GCI suggests using a router, GCI Technical Support does not support them, except as provided on these pages. Please contact the manufacturer if you are having problems with your router.

  Ethernet Connection

Instead of plugging one computer directly into the cable modem, you can use a router to provide Ethernet ports for multiple computers. Your computer must be equipped with an Ethernet port in order to use this method.

Connect the Ethernet Cable (telephone-like cable) to the router.

  Wireless Connection

Using a router to setup a wireless connection can allow for more freedom as a cable is not required to connect. If using this method, GCI recommends securing your wireless network.

GCI does not support routers; please refer to your router manual for setup information.
